Hi. We’re a small team in Asia building a mood-board editor we wish existed.
Most of what we make for clients starts with a mood board — three dozen references, a handful of colour swatches, a few typographic cues, a half-formed idea. For years we’d throw those boards together in Figma, or in Milanote, or on a printed sheet of A3. All fine. None quite right.
In late February 2026 we spent a weekend at a cafe in Sheung Wan sketching what an ideal mood-board tool would look like for the way we actually work. Simple grid. Smart palette extraction. PNG and PDF export. Not a collaborative-canvas-AI-everything platform.
We incorporated Synthia Labs in 2026 and opened the beta six weeks later. That’s where we are now — a small beta with a few dozen early users giving us feedback, one PNG export at a time.
Small is okay.
We don't need a thousand customers. We need the right few hundred paying a fair price for something useful.
Boring tools win.
The editor is deliberately dull. It doesn't suggest, auto-complete, or narrate. You do the creative work.
Human replies.
Every support email is answered by one of the two of us. Usually within a day, always within three.
Two designers. That’s it.
Design & editor
Handles the look of the editor, the in-app image library, and what each export actually looks like on the page.
Code & infrastructure
Runs the engineering side — palette extraction, the export pipeline, Stripe integration, and keeping the beta up.
We’re not a studio, not an agency, and not hiring at the moment. If you have a question or a feature request, the best route is email.
